National Conference on Emerging Scientific and Technologies in Electronics and Energy Management

Er.E.K.Gururajan Superintendent Engineer of METRO TANGEDCO-Comibatore While addressing Inaugural function of an one day national conference on “Emerging Scientific and Technologies in Electronics and Energy Management” at JCT College of Engineering and Technology pichanur, Coimbatore, stressed the need for newer Innovations in technology, Management and Distribution of Electrical Energy for consumers. He traced the energy shortage in the state during the past decade and expressed his optimism that from June -2013 onwards, there will not be much shortage. He categorically pointed out the power shortage has given new search for an energy from the generation of electricity from non conventional sources like wind energy, solar energy and Bio energy. If proper utilization of energy is done and unwanted power consumption is reduced, 20% of energy needed can be met with. All the buildings must have natural lighting and wind insulation for saving energy.

Earlier Dr. R. Saravanan Principal JCT CET traced the development of technology for human convenience. He advised the researchers and students to contribute for the development of innovative products with low cost and minimal energy consumption. Engineering college students from various parts of Tamil nadu presented papers on analog and digital signal processing, Wireless communication system, VLSI Design, Fuzzy logic & Neural Networks, Pattern Recognition, Optical & Satellite Communication. Totally 32 technical papers were presented during the conference.
