The existing Process Control and Dynamics Laboratory at the Department of Petrochemical Engineering has been enriched further by the addition of sophisticated modern laboratory equipments.
The advanced level equipments received from M/s. K. C. Engineers, Ambala, Hariyana were commissioned, installed, interfaced with computers and demonstrated by Mr. Priyam Parashar, Engineering Division, K. C. Engineers.
Laboratory equipment systems and trainers such as:
1) Interacting & non-interacting system
2) Time constant of thermocouple and thermometer system
3) Temperature control trainer
4) Flow control trainer
5) Pressure control trainer
6 Level control trainer
7) P/I & I/P converter trainer
were individually demonstrated about startup, conducting the experiments, data analysis, result analysis in a detailed manner.
The faculty members of Departments of Petrochemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering were given training in operating the process control trainers. Earlier, Prof. N. Krishnaswamy, Dean, briefed the aspects of Process Control and Dynamics Laboratory equipments. He stressed the importance of this FDP and proposed to conduct an advanced level FDP in Control Systems Design for Petroleum and Petrochemical Plants, with sponsorship from DST / AICTE in near future.
