The Department of Computer Science and Engineering association with ICTACT, Tamilnadu organized a 2-Days Faculty Development Program on “EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE” on 29th and 30th September (Thursday and Friday), 2016 for the various streams of faculty members belongs to all the colleges and universities. Mr.Jino Jose, ICTACT, Tamilnadu was the resource person for the occasion. The program commenced with the inaugural function held at seminar hall, were by Dr. G.Rajiv Suresh Kumar, Head of the CSE Department, addressed the gathering followed by the Presidential address given by Dr.G.Ramesh, our Principal and Vote of Thanks by Mr.K.Sivakumar, Asst. Professor, CSE Department.
The forenoon session of the first day began with the resource person introducing the gathering to Emotional Intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. IQ (Intelligence Quotient) was differentiated from EQ (Emotional Quotient) in a detailed manner. Various aspects of Emotional Intelligence were projected with the help of videos and short stories. The session was made interactive with the introduction of few games during the second day of the program. Collectively, all the sessions were really interesting and useful to guide the staff to manage various situations which they may have to face in future.
