JCT IGNITE 2018-Two Day Inter-State Science Exhibition organized by JCT Polytechnic College on 05.01.2018 and 06.01.2018

JCT Polytechnic College organized a two day Inter-State Science Exhibition JCT IGNITE 2018 on 05.01.18 and 06.01.18 in the JCT Engineering College premises to attract 10th and 12th school students of Tamil Nadu and Kerala states of our college surrounding schools.


The faculty of all departments approached 74 schools in Coimbatore and 53 schools in Kerala covering the area till Mannarkad. Out of which 10 school headmasters initially considered our request and we expected 1100+ students for exhibition on both the days.

Various committees were allotted for different kinds of tasks, appropriate student volunteers were also allotted to each committee and the works were preceded accordingly. 


During the inaugural ceremony of the programme St. Pauls School students were participated. Mr.Abner Leo, Lecturer (Sr.Grade)/EEE welcomed the gathering followed by lighting the kuttuvillakku by dias people. Then the chief guest was honored by a Sal and memento by the Principal, JCT PTC.

Prof.R.Manoharan, Principal, JCT Polytechnic College presided over the function and in his speech he explained about why we are conducting such type programmes for the school students to the audience.

Dr.G.Ramesh, Principal, JCTCET felicitated the gathering, In his speech he insisted the students to involve in such kind of activities other than academic which will make them to face the world confidently.

Then the Chief Guest, Dr.Vairam, ME, PhD, Principal, Government Polytechnic College, Coimbatore delivered the Inaugural address. In his inspiring address, he explained the importance and benefits of involving in various activities of a student other than exam related activities. Also he informed the students that the student should not study during the exam day. They have to keep their mind free so that they can write the exam well for any kind of question paper. Finally, Prof.A.Sakthivel,HOD/EEE proposed the vote of thanks.


A total of 58 projects from Polytechnic students and 18 projects from School students were exhibited in Physics and Chemistry Labs of JCT CET. During the first day 468 students and the second day 205 students were participated from various schools. About 50 students from engineering college were also visited. A study kit which includes a file, pen, formula kit (10th and 12th std), Pocket 2018 Calendar with Public Exam Timetable, college broucher and exhibition broucher were distributed to all the participants  along with refreshments. The accompanying teachers of respective schools were also honored with our Institution diary and Calendar. About 100 volunteers were also involved. To and from transport were arranged to all the school participants. Some of the accepted schools were unable to participate due to their last minute problems.


On 06.01.2018, at 3.00pm Valedictory Ceremony of JCT IGNITE 2018 was conducted.Mr. Krishnakumar, HOD/Civil welcomed the gathering. Prof.R.Manoharan, Principal, JCT Polytechnic College presided over the function. In his address, he appreciated the students of various schools and our Polytechnic College for their active participation and real involvement.Mr. Nagendran, HOD/Mech proposed the vote of thanks.


One study kit along with sufficient no of Pocket 2018 Calendar with Public Exam Timetable will be handed over to all the visited schools. Participant certificates and prizes will be distributed to the school concerned.
