The Department of Electrical and Electronics organized a workshop on 19.08.2016 on the topic “Advancements in Industrial Automation” for all II,III and IV year students of EEE department. “Prolific Systems & Technologies Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore” conducted the workshop. An MoU between JCT institutions and Prolific Systems & Technologies Pvt Ltd was signed in this venture.
An (MoU) means Memorandum of Understanding. It describes a bilateral or multilateral agreement between two or more institutions. Primary purpose of this MoU is to involve the advanced research at their own areas of operation of both parties. Accordingly any supports by way Technical Consultancy (Expertise) literature supports (library, advanced software’s in computer labs) infrastructure supports (Laboratories and workshops) and other logical supports may be availed to the extent of maintaining secrecy and intellectual property rights of both parties. Students are most benefited by the Mou as the MoU signed company takes the responsibility of the students for their placement.

The resource persons from Prolific Systems & Technologies were Mr.K.Ilanchezhian (Technical Manager-Assistant) and Mr.K.Sasi Kumar(Senior CRG Engineer). Mr.K.Ilanchezhian explained about the advancement in industrial automation and their applications. 102 students attended the workshop. The workshop was effective and students were benefited largely. Also, Mr.K.Sasi Kumar gave a live demonstration on automation with the help of a PLC miniature kit.
