The most awaited event of the year, the College Annual Day Celebrations was organized in the College Campus on 29th March 2014, with much vigor and vivacity.
The Annual Day function began in the afternoon. The function was graced by Thiru S.A Subramanian, Chairman JCTCET, Shri.R.Durgashankar, Secretary – Dr.A.Susheela Thirumaran, as the Chief Guest; Trustee Thiru O.M Manivelu, Dr.G.Ramesh, The Principal, Dr. M. Thiruchitrambalam, Dean, JCTCET. Thiru.M.S.Balamurugan, HOD, Science and Humanities, welcomed the gathering.The holy lamp was lit by the dignitaries on stage. The Chief Guest of the day Dr.A.Susheela Thirumaran, Former Vice-Chancellor of Thiruvalluvar University was honored by our Chairman Thiru.S.A.Subramanian.
The Principal Dr.G.Ramesh read the Annual Report for the academic year 2013-2014. The report highlighted the milestones achieved by the students and faculty in the academic field. It recorded the placement of the students, In-plant Training and the Industrial Visits organised by various departments and the research studies taken up by the faculties.
Thiru. S.A Subramanian, Chairman JCT presided over the function. In his presidential address, he asked the teaching community to enthuse the self-confidence and self-motivation in the minds of students and also try to understand the pre-existing concepts in the minds of the students on specific topics.
The Chief guest Dr.A.Susheela Thirumaran, inspired the students with her address in which she asked the students to overcome fear and hindrance. She said, Students should inculcate the philosophy and also try to live the life according to the words of Swami Vivekananda. In addition to that, she insisted that Students should follow the national tradition and ethics of life. On the other hand, she stated that Engineers, doctors, and Scientists from India serve all over the world like Indira Nooyi, CEO, Pepsi Co. The Chief Guest also distributed the prizes to the students for their academic excellence.
In addition to that, a great deal of nail-biting finishes, sweat-drenched exertions, unforgiving competition and healthy team spirit went into the making of the sports day. Students participated in the track and field events with spirit of sportsmanship and prizes were distributed by the college Chairman Thiru.S.A.Subramaniam to the winners of all the sports events in the sports day, organized by Physical Director Mr.C.Mugesh kumar.
The audience was treated with a spectacular cultural extravaganza which captivated one and all. Events were conducted as a part of the fest which included fine arts, dance, drama, music. The function came to a close with a vote of thanks proposed by The Dean, Dr. M. Thiruchitrambalam.
