Seminar Overview
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, organized a technical seminar on “Future EV Skill and Placement Requirements” on 15 October 2025 at the JCTCET Seminar Hall.
The program was organized under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the IEEE Students’ Chapter, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal of Affordable and Clean Energy.
Preparing Students for the Future of Electric Mobility
The seminar aimed to provide students with an industry-oriented understanding of the rapidly evolving Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem and the technical competencies expected from future engineering professionals.
The session connected academic learning with current industry requirements by introducing students to EV technologies, emerging technical roles, practical skill requirements and placement opportunities in the electric mobility sector.
Welcome Address
Dr. B. Balaraj, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, delivered the welcome address. He warmly welcomed the resource person, faculty members and students and set the context for the technical session on the future requirements of the EV industry.
Principal Address
Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCTCET, addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing significance of battery technologies in Electric Vehicles.
He encouraged students to continuously enhance their technical knowledge and practical capabilities in emerging EV technologies to remain aligned with changing industry expectations and future employment opportunities.

Mr. K. Kathirvel delivered an engaging technical session focusing on current developments in electric mobility and the future skill requirements of the EV industry.
He explained how battery systems, power electronics and intelligent energy management form the technological foundation of modern electric mobility solutions. Students were introduced to the engineering challenges and innovations that are shaping the next generation of electric vehicles.

The session highlighted the crucial role of battery technology and Battery Management Systems (BMS) in determining the performance, efficiency and reliability of electric vehicles.
