Program Overview
The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) at JCT College of Engineering and Technology, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized “R&D Awareness – Research Enclave” on 21 November 2025.
The Research Enclave was organized as a platform to showcase ongoing and completed projects from various departments and facilitate the exchange of research knowledge, innovative ideas and technical experiences among students.
Objective of the Research Enclave
The primary objective of the program was to create greater awareness of Research and Development (R&D) activities being carried out across different departments of the institution.
By bringing projects from multiple disciplines onto a common platform, the event aimed to promote knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary learning, research awareness and innovative thinking among students.
Welcome Address
The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Prof. K. Malarvizhi, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. She welcomed the participants and set the context for the Research Enclave, highlighting the value of research, innovation and knowledge sharing within an engineering institution.
Ongoing Research Project Presentations
As part of the Research Enclave, students from various departments were provided with an opportunity to present their ongoing projects and research activities.
The presentations enabled students to explain their project objectives, approaches and ideas while sharing their progress with participants from other disciplines.
This provided a valuable opportunity for students to understand the diverse research activities taking place across the institution and encouraged them to explore ideas beyond their own areas of specialization.
Showcase of Completed Projects
In addition to ongoing research work, the event featured a showcase of completed projects from different departments.
These project displays allowed participants to explore completed research outcomes, understand different approaches to engineering problems and learn from the experiences and solutions developed by students across various disciplines.
Promoting a Research-Oriented Culture
A significant portion of the projects presented during the event focused on research-oriented problems and innovative solutions. The Research Enclave encouraged students to approach academic projects with a stronger emphasis on investigation, experimentation and practical problem-solving.
Exposure to projects from other departments also helped students recognize the potential for interdisciplinary research and the value of combining knowledge from multiple engineering domains.
Interdepartmental Knowledge Exchange
One of the major highlights of the event was the opportunity for students from different departments to interact and learn from each other's research and project experiences.
The exchange of ideas encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration, technical discussion and exposure to diverse engineering solutions, strengthening the overall research and innovation ecosystem within the institution.

Event Coordination
The Research Enclave was coordinated by Prof. J. Wahetha Banu and Mr. R. Merphin from the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems.
The coordinators ensured the smooth organization and successful execution of the project presentations, displays and knowledge-sharing activities throughout the program.
Program Outcome
The Research Enclave successfully provided students with a platform to present, observe and discuss research-oriented projects from multiple engineering disciplines.
The event enhanced awareness of ongoing R&D activities, encouraged interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and motivated students to explore innovative ideas and research-driven solutions in their future academic projects.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. J. Wahetha Banu. She expressed sincere appreciation to the organizers and participants for their valuable contributions, active involvement and efforts toward making the Research Enclave a successful knowledge-sharing initiative.
