Symposium Overview
JCT College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized its technical symposium “J-Finagles” on 26 March 2026 at the JCT Seminar Hall.
The symposium provided a dynamic platform for students to enhance their technical knowledge, showcase their talents, demonstrate innovative ideas and interact with students from various institutions.
Objective of J-Finagles
The primary objective of the symposium was to encourage students to move beyond classroom learning and apply their technical knowledge through competitions, presentations and collaborative activities.
The program aimed to strengthen technical competence, innovation, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and communication skills while providing participants with opportunities to interact and compete with their peers.
Inaugural Ceremony
The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, marking the formal inauguration of J-Finagles 2026. The ceremony symbolized the illumination of knowledge and created a positive and energetic atmosphere for the day's activities.
Dr. V. Murugesh, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, delivered the welcome address. He warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students representing various institutions.
During his address, he emphasized the importance of technical symposiums in developing students' technical competence, innovative thinking and professional skills.
Symposium Briefing
Prof. Hari GS, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, presented a comprehensive overview of the symposium.
He explained the schedule, objectives and rules governing the various competitions and encouraged participants to actively engage in the events and make the best use of the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities.

Valedictory & Prize Distribution

Winners were honoured with cash prizes and certificates of merit by Dr. V. Murugesh, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology.
The dignitaries appreciated the efforts and competitive spirit of the students and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence, innovation and continuous learning. All participants were also presented with participation certificates in recognition of their involvement in the symposium.
