Inauguration Overview
The Tamil Mandram of JCT College of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated on 25 November 2025 at the college Seminar Hall with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit.
The program commenced at 10:00 AM with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, creating an atmosphere of cultural pride and respect for the Tamil language and its rich literary heritage.
Welcome Address
Dr. N. Preetha delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students gathered for the inauguration.
In the address, she emphasized the importance of Tamil language, literature and culture in shaping students' identity and encouraged the younger generation to understand, appreciate and preserve the rich heritage of Tamil.
Lighting the Lamp of Knowledge
The inauguration ceremony continued with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment. The ceremony marked the formal beginning of the Tamil Mandram's activities and reflected the institution's commitment to promoting linguistic and cultural values among students.
Presidential Address
The function was presided over by Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal, JCT College of Engineering and Technology.
The Principal welcomed and felicitated the Chief Guest and delivered the Presidential Address. His presence and encouragement reinforced the institution's support for activities that promote language, literature, cultural awareness and student participation beyond academics.

Formal Inauguration of Tamil Mandram
The Tamil Mandram was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. S. Sundarabalu. During his address, he highlighted the richness, historical significance and enduring legacy of Tamil language and culture.
He encouraged students to actively participate in linguistic, literary and cultural activities and use the Tamil Mandram as a platform to develop their creativity, communication abilities and appreciation for Tamil heritage.
Student Cultural Performances
Following the formal inauguration, students presented a series of cultural and literary programs celebrating the beauty and richness of the Tamil language.
The performances included speeches and poetry recitations highlighting Tamil scholars and literary heritage. The presentations showcased the talents of the students while reflecting their enthusiasm and affection for Tamil language and culture.
Promoting Tamil Language & Heritage

Annual Plan of Activities
Dr. A. Indirapriyadharshini, Staff Coordinator, presented the annual plan of activities proposed for the Tamil Mandram.
The Mandram plans to conduct a variety of literary, academic and cultural activities throughout the year, including:
- Tamil literary competitions
- Speech and poetry competitions
- Guest lectures by scholars and experts
- Literary and cultural workshops
- Programs highlighting renowned Tamil scholars and writers
- Celebrations of important Tamil festivals and literary days

Vote of Thanks
The inauguration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. K. Lakshmanan, Assistant Professor. He expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal, faculty coordinators, organizing team and students for their valuable contribution and active participation. The program formally concluded with the National Anthem.
