Association Inaugural of Department of Food Technology-AFFT-2016

 “ASSOCIATION OF FUTURE FOOD TECHNOCRATS (AFFT)”

        The Food Technology Association of JCT College of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated by Dr. S. Balasubramanian, Managing Director, Meena Lakshmi Farm Products, Dindigul on 27/09/2016, 1.00 P.M with Dr. N. Krishnaswamy, Dean, JCT College presided over the function.

Dr. R. Govindarajan, HOD explained about the importance of having an association and also insisted students to actively participate in association activities in the future.

Dr. S. Balasubramanian shared his work experiences on traditional foods and its importance to mankind. He emphasized that having a safe food is the need of the hour. He also explained in detail about the drawbacks of junk foods and GMOs. He mentioned that in the upcoming years there is going to be huge demand for qualified food technologists.

He insisted the students to focus on association and other activities such as creating food safety awareness among people and vendors, visiting and understanding the functioning of food processing industries, participation in seminars, conferences and symposia etc., apart from focusing on studies alone. Entrepreneurship opportunities available in food sector were also explained by him clearly.

The Office Bearers for the association were introduced by Mrs. Harini, AP/FT and Mrs. J. Esther Hellan Prasanna, AP/FT delivered the vote of thanks
