The petroleum engineering departmental association “PEARL” was inaugurated for the academic year 2016-2017 by Thiru.K.Ramamurthy, Sr. Divisional Manager, IOCL, Coimbatore on 26th Sep’16. Dr.G.Ramesh principal presided over the function.
Thiru.K.Ramamurthy, Sr. Divisional manager, IOCL in his inaugural speech traced the economical and political factors affecting the crude production and the variation in supply and demand globally for the crude oil. The crude of OPEC nations and U.S. are compared and the import of crude by India over the past decade was explained. The Role of petroleum refineries and pricing downstream products were critically reviewed.
There are great opportunities for R&D, Upstream and downstream production services, safety engineering, marketing and sales for petroleum engineering graduates.
Mr. Vijay Raj, Asst. Manger, IOCl, Coimbatore explained the importance of GATE examination and improving post graduate and research work. He stressed the need for GATE scores for entering in to IOCL, ONGC, Bharath Petroleum and any central Government Organizations.
Earlier Dr.G.Ramesh, Principal spoke on Time management and Stressed the need for academic excellence to success in career.
Prof. N. Krishnaswamy, Dean, welcomed the gathering. Thiru.N.Aravindh , staff Co-ordinator, introduced office bearers of the association and Thiru.R.Prasanna Venkatesh explained the future plans.
Dr. S. Venkatesa Prabhu, HOD, declared the Vote of Thanks. The function ended with National Anthem.
