As a part of Faculty Development Program the Department of Mechanical engineering has organized a one day seminar on Time and Stress Management and Corporate Culture. The resource person was Sri.A.Krishna Kumar, senior training officer of PSG industrial institute, Coimbatore. The program was conducted from 11.45 am to 1.15 pm on 25th June 2015 in the seminar hall of JCT college of Engineering and Technology. All the faculty members of JCT College of engineering and technology participated in the seminar.
During the first session of the seminar pertaining to Time and Stress Management, the Resource person explained the importance of Personality Development by developing one’s own personal ability with knowledge, skills and efforts quoting numerous examples for easy understanding and strict adherence. The participants were taught prime qualities required for Personality Development such as communication skill, presentation skill, problem solving techniques, decision making skills, tuning and accepting skill and team work combined with interpersonal skills. The need to adapt the risk management techniques comprising of strength, weakness, opportunities and threatening of day-to-day life was explained by him in detail. He also enlightened the difference between hard work and smart work and advised to be productive and busy. Doing right things at right time with effective utilization of time and Word, moment and time can never be retrieved and hence motivation, learning, confidence and discipline are most important factors while planning.
During the second session, Sri.A.Krishna Kumar explained about how to understand and develop corporate culture among themselves. He taught corporate culture and related to different types of group-play games. The participants found both the sessions very useful.
