JCT Polytechnic College organized the Intercollegiate Volleyball tournament and Kabaddi tournament on 21st and 22nd of February 2019 at their volley ball Court and kabaddi ground respectively. Volley Ball match were played by 12 teams of various college from T.N and Kerala, and 10 teams played kabaddi from colleges in T.N. Mr.Vimalraj.V, Indian Army was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
Dr.R.Manoharan, Principal, JCT Polytechnic College introduced the Chief Guest and delivered the welcome address. The Chief Guest in his address emphasized the importance of sports for a healthy life.
The Kabaddi match was declared open at 11.00 am and the Volley ball match at 11.30.am. The kabaddi match was actively played by 10 teams from various colleges in T.N and 12 teams from different colleges in Kerala and T.N got together to spike,hit and smash the balls at the volley ball court. The participants played the event with full sport man spirit .The tournament was played ethically with full zeal by all the the participants.
The team which contributed to the credits of their college were – Suganya Polytechnic college bagging Ist prize, Raasi polytechnic stood IInd and Srinarayana guru were placed in the IIIrd position in Kabaddi Match.
In Volley ball match the teams who were honoured were- Thiruvelluvar with Ist prize, CMS polytechnic with IInd prize and Hindustan polytechnic with III rd prize.
The valedictory function was held on 22ndof February at 4.30pm in the volleyball court Dr.K.Rameshwaran,director,JCT intitutions was the Chief Guest. Dr. R.Manoharan,Principal introduced the Chief Guest and delivered the welcome address.The Chief guest motitvated and congratulated all the participants and awarded the prizes to the winners.
The programme came to a successful end with vote of thanks by Mr.Vignes, Physical Fitness Instructor Lecturer,JCT Polytechnic.
