An interstate level science expo “IGNITE-2K19” for school students was conducted on 3RD ,4TH 5TH on jan 2019 for school students at JCT polytechnic college. The students of the JCT polytechnic college and other schools exhibited their talents by fabricating and demonstrating their projects. The expo brought together students from various schools across the city and enabling them to share their knowledge in the emerging trends.
On day one 250 students from nearby schools visited the expo and interacted with our students. Officially the event “IGNITE-2K19” was inaugurated on 4TH January. During the inaugural ceremony Mr.Nagendran-HOD-Mech welcomed the gathering; Followed by lightening the kuthu vilakku by people in dias, then the Chief Guest was honored with a shawl and memento by the principal.
Mr.N.Satish Babu-vice principal presided over the function and in his speech he explained about the importance of science in daily life and social responsibilities of students in society.Dr.R.Manoharan – Principal, addressed gathering in his speech he insisted the students to actively involve themselves in such activities to gain and develop their knowledge.
Then the chief guest Mr.GregorJoseph-Managing Director Premier Automation delivered the inaugural address. He explained the importance and benefits of involving in various activities and motivated the students by his speech.Mr . A.Sakthivel-HoD –EEE delivered the vote of thanks. After refreshment the students from various schools viewed the displayed projects and showcased their projects one by one.
The various projects of students from different department gave them new ideas, and were enthusiastic to know more about each display.Students of Jct polytechnic college created some innovative and interesting projects like,

On day three the students from Kerala 223 students visited the expo. The best projects were awarded. The general feedback obtained from the students and participants about the expo.The Expo ended up successfully by active participation and involvement of 923 students from various schools in Tamilnadu & Kerala.
