On Behalf of JCT Polytechnic College with the support of Management, ‘Ponpozhil Pongal Day’ was celebrated by Women Empowerment Cell in the Polytechnic campus on 11.01.20 at 9.30.am.
Dr.R.Manoharan, Principal, All HODs, all faculty members along with non- teaching and few interested students were participated in this special day celebration. All faculties dressed in dhoti and saree that completed the festive mood by creating the traditional atmosphere. They decorated the Pongal celebrations venue and our students and staff celebrated Pongal in a traditional way by preparing ‘Pongal’ in mud pot with all religious traits and performed special Pooja.
Prepared Sweet Pongal was distributed to all the gathering. The students danced to the tune of traditional beats and the campus was decorated with rangoli. The staff and student organized games musical chair, lemon on spoon, water bottle filling and pot-breaking competition and prizes were distributed to the winners. The celebration ended at 4.30PM with national anthem.
