The Department of Mechanical Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore organized a Workshop entitled “WHY EVERY ENGINEER SHOULD LEARN SOLIDWORKS IN 2025” on 14.08.2025 for imparting fundamental knowledge of Solidworks in Mechanical Industries. Dr.G.Mahesh, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the welcome address and Mr.R.Mahendran,AP/Mech invited the Chief Guest.

The resource person explained the importance and significance of Solidworks in Mechanical Industries. He also explained that Solidworks is a powerful 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software that has revolutionized the way Designers, Engineers and Manufacturers create and develop products. He also pointed out that the Solidworks enables designers and engineers to create complex designs quickly and efficiently, reducing design time and increasing productivity.Also, SolidWorks is widely adopted across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical devices and consumer products. He also reiterated that the knowledge of Solidworks can open up career opportunities in Design, Engineering and Manufacturing. Proficiency in Solidworks can differentiate you from other engineers and make you a more attractive candidate. Totally, more than 75 students and 12 faculty members attended the programme.
