The Department of Food Technology at JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized a special program on 29th July 2025 to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The event aimed to raise awareness about the key reforms and objectives of NEP 2020, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

The event began with a welcome address. The resource person, Dr. P. Balamurugan, Professor and Head, Department of Food Technology, delivered a thought-provoking speech on the importance of NEP in transforming the Indian education system. He explained the policy’s emphasis on holistic, multidisciplinary, and skill-based education, and how it encourages creativity, critical thinking, and flexibility among students.

Following this, a drawing competition was conducted on the theme “Transforming Education through NEP”. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students of the Department of Food Technology, who expressed their understanding and vision of NEP 2020 through creative artwork. The event was coordinated by Ms. N. Jamunasri, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Technology. She also proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing her sincere gratitude to the management, the resource person, faculty members, and student participants for making the event successful. This program served as an informative and engaging platform for students to explore the aims and values of NEP 2020 and understand their role in shaping the future of education.
