The Department of Petroleum Engineering in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) successfully organized an Entrepreneurship Development Program on the topic "Angel Investment / Venture Capital Funding Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs" on 12th August 2025 at the Seminar Hall, JCT College of Engineering and Technology.
The resource person, Prof. Rajesh Harikrishnan from Coimbatore, delivered an insightful and inspiring session focused on the financial ecosystem that supports startup development and innovation. Students gained valuable insights into:
• How to pitch a startup idea effectively
• Building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
• Understanding investor expectations
• Funding stages and valuation
• Networking and scaling strategies
The session also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reinforcing the institution’s commitment toward sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship development.
The event was coordinated by Mr. V. Purushothaman, Assistant Professor (PE) and convened by Dr. K. Ramachandran, HoD/PE. The department extends its appreciation to the management, resource person, faculty members, and enthusiastic student participants for contributing to the success of this impactful initiative. The session sparked curiosity among students to think beyond conventional career paths and explore entrepreneurship as a viable and impactful option.
