The Tamil Mandram of JCT College of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated on 25.11.2025 at Seminar Hall with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit. The event began at 10.00 Am onwards with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, invoking harmony and pride in the Tamil language.

Dr.N.Preetha delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of Tamil language, literature, and culture in shaping students’ identity. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp of knowledge, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment. The Principal welcomed the Chief Guest with a shawl/memento (as per institution’s tradition). The audience greeted the Chief Guest with applause, acknowledging their contribution to society. The highlight of the event was the Presidential Address delivered by the Principalof Dr.S.Manoharan, who presided over the function.

The Tamil Mandram was formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr.S.Sundarabalu,Associate Professor & Head (i/c) who highlighted the richness of Tamil heritage and encouraged students to participate actively in linguistic and cultural activities.

Following the inauguration, a series of cultural programs were presented by the students, including (e.g., speech, poetry recitations on Tamil scholars). These performances showcased the students’ talents and reflected their love for the Tamil language. The staff coordinator Dr.A.Indirapriyadharshini, explained the annual plan of activities for the Tamil Mandram, which included literary competitions, guest lectures, workshops, and celebrations of important Tamil festivals and literary days.The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr.K.Lakshmanan/Assistant Professor, followed by the National Anthem. The inauguration ceremony was a grand success and inspired the students to uphold and promote the glory of the Tamil language.
