The Department of Mechanical Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore organized a Guest Lecture entitled “ENGINEERING MECHANICS” on 19.09.2025 for imparting fundamental knowledge of Engineering Mechanics in Mechanical Industries. Mr.S.Settu, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the welcome address and Mr.R.Mahendran,AP/Mech invited the Chief Guest. The Resource person explained by understanding the importance and significance of Engineering Mechanics and it is also a fundamental subject that plays a crucial role in the field of Mechanical Engineering. He also explained that the Engineering Mechanics is connected to other disciplines, such as Materials Science, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics. The subject has numerous real-world applications, making it an exciting and rewarding field to study and work in. Engineering Mechanics is a fundamental subject that provides the foundation for Mechanical Engineers to design, analyze and solve complex mechanical problems. Its significance and importance cannot be overstated, as it plays a critical role in shaping the skills and knowledge of Mechanical Engineers.
