The Department of Mechanical Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore organized Induction Program entitled “Integrating Sustainability-MEP Engineering as a Career” on 22.01.2026 for imparting fundamental knowledge of MEP in Mechanical Industries. Dr.M.Bhuvaneshwaran, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the welcome address and Mr.R.Mahendran,AP/Mech invited the Chief Guest. The resource person explained the importance and significance of MEP in Mechanical Industries. He also explained that Integrating sustainability into Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering focuses on reducing environmental impact through energy-efficient HVAC, renewable energy, and water-saving systems. This career path involves using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to design, simulate, and optimize systems for certifications like LEED or IGBC, creating long-term, high-efficiency, and cost-effective buildings. It offers a high-growth, 7% job increase projection through 2033. Designing eco-friendly systems, including AI-powered HVAC, solar energy collectors, energy-efficient lighting, and water reuse systems. Totally, more than 75 students and 12 faculty members attended the programme. Prof.R.ShivaRaman, AP/Mech proposed the vote of thanks.
