International Women’s Day-2026

The International Women’s Day celebration was conducted on 07 March 2026 at JCT College of Engineering and Technology. The program was organized jointly by the Women Empowerment Cell and PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Cell to commemorate the achievements of women and to create awareness about women’s rights, empowerment, and safety in society. The event commenced in the JCT Seminar Hall, where all the lady faculty members and girl students enthusiastically participated in the program.

The program began with a Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Bhuvanika, Final Year student from the AIDS Department. In her address, she warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students and highlighted the importance of celebrating International Women’s Day as a symbol of equality, empowerment, and respect for women in all spheres of life.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal of JCT College. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of empowering women through education, leadership, and equal opportunities. He encouraged the students to become confident individuals and contribute positively to society. The program was graced by the presence of several esteemed Chief Guests, who shared their valuable insights and experiences with the students. The dignitaries included:

2. Mrs. K. A. Valarmathi – Assistant General Manager, BSNL, Mysuru

3. Mrs. Ashwini Raghavendran – Senior Manager,Donyati, Coimbatore

4. Mrs. J. Jafla – Inspector of Police,IPREC, Dindigul

5. Mrs. Roopasree – Advocate, Coimbatore District Court

6. Dr. Saradha Jaganathan. -Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Ccoimbatore

Each of the chief guests addressed the gathering and shared inspiring messages related to women empowerment, workplace equality, legal awareness, mental health, and personal development. They encouraged the students to pursue their goals with determination and highlighted the importance of self-confidence, safety awareness, and professional growth for women. The session was highly interactive. Prizes were distributed to the winners who participated in events like Mehendi for girl students and Musical chair for lady faculties. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Preethi, Final Year student from the CSBS Department. She expressed sincere gratitude to the chief guests, the principal, organizing committee members, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support in making the event a success. Overall, the International Women’s Day celebration served as an inspiring platform to recognize the contributions of women and to motivate students to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
