J-Finagles (CIVIL ENGINEERING)

JCT College of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized its technical symposium “J-Finagles” on 26th March 2026 at the JCT Seminar Hall. The symposium aimed to provide a dynamic platform for students to enhance their technical knowledge, showcase their talents, and interact with peers from various institutions.

The program commenced with the auspicious lighting of the kuthuvilakku, marking the formal inauguration of the event and symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. The ceremony created a positive and energetic atmosphere for the day’s proceedings.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. V. Murugesh, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. In his address, he warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students from various colleges, and emphasized the importance of such symposiums in developing technical competence, innovation, and professional skills among engineering students.

Following the welcome address, Prof.Hari GS, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, presented a comprehensive overview of the symposium. He explained the schedule, rules, and objectives of the various events, motivating students to actively participate and make the best use of the opportunity. The symposium witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing several colleges. The event was thoughtfully structured to include a variety of technical events such as paper presentations, technical quizzes, and project-related competitions, as well as non-technical events like fun games and creative contests. These activities not only tested the participants’ technical knowledge but also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and communication skills.

The participants showcased remarkable talent, innovation, and competitive spirit throughout the day. The events were conducted smoothly under the guidance of faculty coordinators and student organizers, ensuring fairness and active engagement.

The valedictory session featured the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of various events were honoured with cash prizes and certificates of merit. The prizes were distributed by Dr.V.Murugesh, Head of the Department, and the Principal, Dr. S. Manoharan, who appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. All participants were also awarded participation certificates as a token of appreciation.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof.D.Arul Ganapathy, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering who expressed sincere gratitude to the management, principal, faculty members, organizing committee, volunteers, and participants for their valuable contributions in making the symposium a grand success.
