ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON “OIL AND GAS OFFSHORE SAFETY ENGINEERING” ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERING IN ASSOCIATION WITH PISTA (INTERNATIONAL SAFETY ACADEMY)TEAM HELD ON 07TH MARCH 2019

The PISTA TEAM members Mr.Balaj (Manager) and R.Jermonses.Antony-Trainer,Diver of the Safety academy.,arrived at JCT Campus by 10.00 a.m. By 10.15 a.m. they are invited to the Principals Office. The Orientation Programme commences by 11.00 am. In the presence of Dean,PCE,HoD and Prof.G.Balachandran.HoD-PE welcomes the chief guest and Prof.G.Balachandran introduces the PISTA team to the students.Students from First year to Final Years are invited and they are present.

From 11.20 a.m to 1.00 p.m. the Lecture session was carried out by the PISTA team . They discussed about the various safety measures and precautions to be taken during the oil and gas Off shore operations.,followed by short videos.

Post Lunch session started by 2.00 p.m.The manager Mr.Balaji gave a brief account about the various Safety courses run by the PISTA academy.after that there was a interaction session with students. Most of the students are interested in doing the Safety courses.

The Orientation programme gave many idea about the various safety measures in Off shore Oil and Gas operations.The session was closed by 4.00 p.m. in the evening. The Vote of thanks was given by Prof.G.Balachandran and the chief guests were honoured at the end.
