A SEMINAR ON “HOW TO CRACK IAS EXAM” WAS ORGANIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRAINING AND PLACEMENT,JCTCET ON 23RD JANUARY 2019

A seminar on “How to crack IAS exam” was organized by the Department of Training and Placement at JCTcampus on 23.01.2019. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Israel Jebasingh (Red IAS Officer) and Director of OFFICERS IAS ACADEMY, Chennai for all final and third year students. Totally 420 students attended the seminar.

Officers IAS Academy is the only UPSC (Civil Services) coaching institute in India that is founded and run by a Seven-member team of former Civil Servants (IAS, IRS and IRAS). Comprised of passionate and like-minded individuals, these highly accomplished and respected Civil Servants resigned/retired from service to embark on a mission to teach and mentor UPSC aspirants and in the process nurture and create the next generation of Civil Servants.

Dr. G. Ramesh (Principal) welcomed Mr. Israel Jebasingh,(Retd- IAS Officer)(founder and director) of OFFICERS IAS ACADEMY and the gathering. Prof.V.Jethose (Head – Training and Placement) delivered the key note address. Mr. Subin S, Training and Placement Officer & Mr. Nethaji Kumar. D, Placement Officer,felicitated.

Mr. Israel shared his experience of how he became an IAS officer from being a medical aspirant in his school days. He follows the two mantras that was followed by our former president Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. He says” one have to do anything, as if there is nothing else is there to do”. And the other is, “Don’t follow the crowd, be different”. He cleared the myths and explained the realities of preparing for civil service exams. He said” it is easy to clear the civil service exams if you have the curiosity and sincerity towards learning.

He explained about the three rounds of civil service exam which includes preliminary and main exam which is followed by an interview. He guided the students to prepare on various topics according to the UPSC syllabus. He had an interactive session with our students.
