Women Empowerment and Prevention of sexual harassment (PoSH) cell has organized an awareness program on Karate for First year Girl students on 8-11-23 at JCT college of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. Welcome address was given by Dr. K. Mohanapandian HOD-S&H. Next Presidential address was given by Dr.S.Manoharan,Principal,JCTCET.

The Key speaker of the event was Renshi Alex David,5th dan. He motivated the students to improve their self-confidence, discipline, self-fitness and self-esteem. He started his speech by saying that Knife is only an object but not a weapon, but our hands are the best weapon that can be used to protect us.

Students of our institution demonstrated various katas and self-defense techniques, and the audience were awestruck by observing the breaking of bricks and it created huge awareness among the students. This awareness programme was very helpful and useful to the students.

Nearly 80 girl students participated and got benefited through this program. Finally Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. N. Mohana (AP-S&H) and the programme ended successfully.
