AWS Cloud Essentials-2025

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized an insightful webinar titled "AWS Cloud Essentials" on 9th February 2025. The primary goal of this webinar was to explore the fundamentals of cloud computing and AWS services, equipping students with essential knowledge to navigate the evolving cloud landscape.

The webinar opened with a welcome address by Prof. V Jethose (HoD/AI&DS) who emphasized the growing role of cloud technology in modern industries and the significance of AWS in digital transformation. The session was conducted by Graphite Networks, Kochi, through Microsoft Teams, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The webinar featured renowned experts in cloud computing who provided valuable insights into cloud deployment models and services. The discussions covered different types of cloud, including private, public, and hybrid models, highlighting their unique advantages and use cases. The speakers elaborated on cloud service models such as Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service, explaining their relevance in modern business and technology landscapes. A step-by-step guide on setting up an Amazon AWS account was provided, ensuring participants could explore AWS functionalities firsthand. The session also delved into Amazon EC2, covering its configurations, use cases, and its role in scalable cloud computing.

Prof. K Rajkumar from the AI&DS Department served as the event coordinator, ensuring smooth execution and fostering engaging discussions among participants. A standout segment of the webinar was an interactive Q&A session, where students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding AWS services and cloud computing careers. Experts highlighted key skills and competencies required to excel in cloud technologies, emphasizing practical learning and industry-oriented knowledge.

In addition to the technical insights shared during the webinar, the session also covered career opportunities in cloud computing and AWS certifications. Industry professionals provided valuable perspectives on job prospects in cloud-based roles, enhancing students' understanding of the field. The event successfully provided participants with a roadmap for understanding and utilizing AWS cloud services, emphasizing continuous learning and adaptability to technological advancements.

The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Balaji P (Secretary/Department Association AI&DS) followed by the National Anthem.
