On 13th October 2023, the Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering (BTBCE) at JCT College of Engineering and Technology proudly inaugurated its student association, "Genezen". The event, held at the JCT Seminar Hall, aimed to provide a platform for students to engage in academic, technical, and extracurricular activities related to biotechnology and biochemical engineering. The inaugural ceremony was graced by a distinguished resource person from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), who spoke on the crucial role of biotechnology in pollution control. Additionally, the event included initiatives focused on Meendum Majappai and RTI (Right to Information) Awareness to promote environmental and civic responsibility.

The inauguration of "Genezen" was a resounding success and marked a significant milestone for the Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering at JCT College of Engineering and Technology. The TNPCB representative's address on environmental biotechnology was particularly insightful, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices in biotechnology.
