The faculty members of the BTBCE Department visited Encee Aromatics (P) Ltd., Mettupalayam on 3rdJanuary 2026 as part of the department’s initiative to strengthen industry–institute interaction and enhance practical exposure to current industrial practices.

Encee Aromatics (P) Ltd. is engaged in the manufacture of aroma chemicals and essential oil derivatives used in perfumery, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and flavor industries. During the visit, the faculty members were provided with a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, production processes, quality control mechanisms, and safety practices.

The visit included a guided tour of the manufacturing units, where faculty observed key process equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, blending units, and storage systems. The company officials explained raw material handling procedures, process control strategies, and quality assurance techniques adopted to maintain product standards. Special emphasis was given to industrial safety measures, environmental compliance, and waste management systems implemented in the plant.

Interactive discussions were held with plant engineers and technical staff regarding process optimization, automation, and current industry expectations from engineering graduates. The interaction provided valuable insights into bridging the gap between theoretical concepts taught in classrooms and their real-time industrial applications.

The faculty members identified several areas where the knowledge gained from the visit could be integrated into teaching methodologies, laboratory experiments, and project guidance. The visit also opened avenues for potential collaboration in terms of student industrial visits, internships, guest lectures by industry experts, and possible research partnerships.
