EmpowerHer: Strength Within,A Session with karate champions-2025

On October 28, 2025, the Women Empowerment & PoSH Cell of JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized an inspiring awareness program titled "EmpowerHer: Strength Within, A session with Karate Champions". The event was held from 11:00 AM onwards, bringing together women cell coordinators from every department and girl students from Arts, Polytechnic and Engineering colleges of JCT Institutions.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Bhuvanika, of IV-year student of AIDS, setting the tone for an empowering and engaging session. Dr. S. Manoharan, Senior Principal of JCT Institutions delivered a motivating presidential address. He emphasized the importance of Women’s Empowerment and the role of education in fostering confident and strong individuals.

The program was graced by esteemed chief guests and guests of honor who are renowned figures in the world of Karate:

1. Hanshi Dr. Viacheslav Timofeev, Founder President of World Karate Confederation, Germany, and Vice President of the International Martial Arts Group Committee.

2 Hanshi Dr. Rethinam Swakky, 9th Dan Red, Karate & Kobudo, Vice President of World Karate Confederation (WKC), and Founder President of Indian Karate Confederation, India.

3. Kyoshi Faustin Moses Rethinam, 8th Dan, Okinawa, Japan, International Referee, of World Karate Confederation (WKC), India.

4. Mr. Adabai Timofeev, 8th Dan, Okinawa, Japan, Four-time World Champion of World Karate The session was filled with demonstrations and interactions with the karate champions, showcasing their skills and sharing their experiences. The guests of honor emphasized the importance of discipline, self-confidence, and perseverance in achieving success. They also highlighted how martial arts can empower women and girls, enhancing their physical and mental strength.

Certificates and Medals were presented to the students Ms. Rosaline. A, III -BTBC and Ramya.M, III -EEE who participated and won the National Level Karate Competition held at Bangalore. The Women Empowerment & PoSH Cell, under the coordination of Mrs.Vedha Vnodha.D, Assistant Professor, ECE Department, ensured a well-organized and impactful event. The session concluded with a sense of empowerment and a renewed commitment to strive for excellence.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Preethi, a final-year student of CSBS, expressing gratitude to the chief guests, guests of honor, and all participants for their presence and contributions. The program was a resounding success, inspiring and motivating the participants.
