FUTURE EV SKILL AND PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS-2025

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized a technical seminar on “Future EV Skill and Placement Requirements” on 15th October 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the JCTCET Seminar Hall. The session was arranged under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the IEEE Students’ Chapter, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goal – Affordable and Clean Energy.The program began with a cordial welcome address by Dr. B. Balaraj, Head of the Department of EEE, who extended his warm wishes to the invited guest, faculty members, and students. This was followed by an address by Dr. S. Manoharan, Principal of JCTCET, who highlighted the growing significance of battery technology in Electric Vehicles (EVs) and encouraged students to enhance their knowledge in this rapidly evolving field to meet industry expectations.The session was graced by the presence of Mr. K. Kathirvel, Hardware Team Manager – Power Electronics, Valeo, Chennai, as the resource person. He delivered an engaging and thought-provoking lecture on the current trends and future skill demands in the EV industry.

He explained the crucial role of battery systems, power electronics, and energy management in the development of electric mobility solutions. His presentation also shed light on the technological innovations driving the EV sector and the emerging career opportunities for engineering graduates.Students gained valuable insights into topics such as battery management systems, charging infrastructure, inverter technologies, and real-world applications of power electronics in EVs. The resource person also discussed key competencies and software tools that are highly valued by employers in this domain, motivating students to acquire practical skills beyond academic learning.A total of 63 participants were benefited through this event, gaining valuable insights into the latest developments in the field. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. S. Shobana, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, who expressed sincere appreciation to the management, the guest speaker, and all the attendees for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the seminar a success.
