The Department of Mechanical Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore organized a Seminar entitled “IMPORTANCE OF CAD SOFTWARE AND IT’s APPLICATIONS FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERS” on 15.10.2025 for imparting fundamental knowledge of CAD Software in Mechanical Industries. Dr.M.VijayaKumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the welcome address and Mr.R.Mahendran,AP/Mech invited the Chief Guest. The resource person explained the importance and significance of CAD Software in Mechanical Industries. He also explained that CAD software allows for the creation of highly accurate 2D and 3D models with exact dimensions, which is essential for preventing errors in final products. Also CAD facilitates seamless teamwork by enabling easy sharing of digital models and data among team members, suppliers and manufacturers, regardless of location. Engineers can use CAD to optimize designs for energy efficiency and reduced material consumption, contributing to more sustainable products Totally, more than 75 students and faculty members attended the programme.
