INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION-2025

“INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION” was celebrated on 08.03.2025 by the Women Empowerment & Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Cell at JCT college of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.. This event was organized for every girl students to promote the role of women and to celebrate those who are already successful in the field. This programme was coordinated by Mrs D.Vedha Vinodha, Assistant Professor Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The celebration started at 10.00 am by lighting the Kuthuvilakku.Ms. Jafia of (First year CSE) gave the Welcome Address followed by a welcome dance. After the welcome address, Presidential Address was headed by our beloved Principal Dr S.Manoharan, JCTCET. JCT Polytechnic College Principal Prof.S.Dhamodharan and JCT Arts & Science College Principal Dr.S.Anbarasu also participated in the program.

In morning session, chief guest Dr. P. Suganya Devi, a respected dental professional graced the International Women's Day celebration as the chief guest. Her address focused on the critical and often challenging topic of balancing a demanding professional career with the responsibilities of family life. Our next chief guest Ms. Sruthi Krishna, Associate Professor, Singapore Institute of Management delivered an inspiring address on education system in India and other countries. Her speech centered on empowering women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and break traditional barriers. Followed by her our next chief guest Mrs Ishwarya sevugan spoke about the Life based goals and how to overcome the hardships in each and every aspects of life. Next Ms T.K.Subashini, Manager, Vitae International, expressed the knowledge in setting goals in life. Ms Jeevitha Kumaran, Founder of Minded Learner, Coimbatore acknowledged the challenges women entrepreneurs face, including access to funding, mentorship, and societal biases.

In afternoon session, Chiefguest Ms .Varsha Ramharrak Environmental and safety specialist Trinidad delivered a powerful and insightful address on overcoming gender barriers. Her speech drew from her own experiences in a typically male-dominated field, providing practical advice and inspiration to the audience. Ms. Anjana Vijay, founder of Mudhra Dance School in Palakkad, delivered an inspiring address focused on the achievement of dreams on Women's Day celebration. Her speech, rooted in her own passion for dance and her entrepreneurial spirit, likely resonated deeply with the audience.

The Women's Day celebration continued with a vibrant and moving dance performance by our students. The performance served as a powerful expression of the themes of empowerment, strength, and celebration of womanhood that were highlighted throughout the day. After the cultural events, Prizes were distributed to the students and faculties. Totally 250 girl students and 40women faculty members have actively took part in this event. Finally, the vote of thanks was presented by Yuvashree of (II Year AI&DS) and Women’s Day Celebration came to an end with the National Anthem.
