The students of JCT College of Engineering and Technology celebrated Onam on 13th September 2013. The Principal Dr. R. Saravanan presided over the function. The College Secretary Shri. R. Durga Shankar and Trustee Thiru. O.M. Manivelu participated in the celebration. The function started with a Prayer and the lighting of Lamp by the Dignitaries. Ms. Shifana a final ECE student welcomed the gathering and Ms. Aswathy of III Computer Science Engineering gave an introduction about Onam.

The programme was organized by the students of JCT. The event was celebrated by all the students, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. Students from different classes gathered together to make the event a grand success. In the true spirit of Onam, the students of JCT participated in decorating the place with Onamppookkalam. The Students of Kerala dressed themselves in traditional attires while one student was dressed like the King Mahabali.

In this function the students performed traditional cultural events like Singari Melam, Pookkolam, Classical dances etc., As a part of the celebration, various contests were also held. The celebration came to an end with the distribution of the delicious Onam Palada to all the staff and students.
