The Department of Petroleum Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized an insightful webinar titled "Research Activities: What It Takes to Succeed in Reservoir Simulation Engineering – A Guide for Students" on 19th September 2025 at the JCTCET Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by our proud alumnus, Mr. Ragul V, Reservoir Simulation Engineer, Sterling Oil Group, Nigeria (Batch: 2013–2017). His session provided a deep understanding of the role of research, analytical thinking, and technical competencies required to excel in the field of reservoir simulation.
Industry Connect Session
• During the webinar, Mr. Ragul shared valuable insights on simulation workflows, reservoir modeling tools, and real-world challenges faced in the oil and gas industry. He highlighted the importance of continuous learning, internships, and hands-on software proficiency, inspiring students to shape a skill-oriented mindset.
• The interactive Q&A session allowed students to engage directly with the speaker, gaining clarity on career pathways, global opportunities, and the future of petroleum engineering in an evolving energy landscape.
• The department extends its appreciation to Dr. S. Venkatesh Babu (Coordinator) and Dr. K. Ramachandran (HoD/Convenor) for their support in organizing the event.
• This webinar served as a platform for students to bridge theoretical learning with practical industrial expectations — marking yet another step toward academic excellence and industry readiness.
