A one-day workshop on “AI Tools for Research Writing” was organized by the B.Tech CSBS department of JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The workshop was conducted in online mode on 20 December 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The primary objective of this workshop was to introduce students and faculty to modern Artificial Intelligence tools that assist in academic research, technical writing, and scholarly publication.

The resource person for the workshop was Dr. G. Susan Shiny, Associate Professor in the Department of Information Technology at Sethu Institute of Technology, Virudhunagar. She shared her valuable knowledge and expertise on the use of AI tools in research activities. During the session, she explained how AI can support researchers in literature review, content generation, grammar correction, plagiarism checking, citation management, and improving the overall quality of research papers. She also highlighted ethical considerations and the responsible use of AI in academic work.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of the Convener, Mrs. Malarvizhi, Associate Professor and Head of the B.Tech CSBS department. The Event Coordinator, J. Wahetha Banu, Assistant Professor, B.Tech CSBS, ensured the smooth organization and execution of the program. The workshop was supported by Pencilbitz, which facilitated the event and provided coordination support. The session was highly informative and interactive. Participants gained practical insights into various AI tools used for research writing, including tools for generating ideas, organizing research content, improving language quality, and managing references efficiently. The resource person also demonstrated real-time examples, which helped participants understand the practical applications of AI in academic research. Overall, the workshop was very beneficial for students and faculty members, as it enhanced their understanding of AI-based research tools and their role in improving research productivity and quality. The workshop successfully achieved its objective of creating awareness about the importance and effective use of AI tools in modern research writing.
