The Student Seminar is organized by Computer society of India(CSI), Coimbatore Chapter, in Association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, endorsed a strenuous talk by Mr. Gunal K, Final year CSE Student. The Seminar was titled as: “DATA ANALYTICS USING IBM COGNOS”.

The welcome address was given by Dr. G. Rajiv Suresh Kumar, Vice Principal and Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department.

More then 150 Students from various colleges in and around Coimbatore and CSI Members attended the webinar on 02nd March, 2023 at 6.30 pm. Resource Person discussed the basics in DATA ANALYTICS and the way how it becomes future emerging technology and IBM Tool named “IBM Cognos”. It is a suite of business intelligence software that enables organizations to access and analyze data from various sources, create reports, and make informed decisions. It provides a wide range of capabilities such as Data Visualization, Reporting, Dash Boarding, Predictive Analytics, and Score Carding.”

With IBM Cognos, users can easily access data from multiple sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and even big data platforms. It also has a robust data modeling and metadata layer that helps users create a single version of the truth for their data. This makes it easier for users to make decisions based on accurate and consistent data.

He gave the work sample of IPL dataset presented effectiveness of Dashboard and He worked on New Dataset named Crop yield in India with IBM Cognos , he explained how upload the Dataset , prepare the dataset , Creating dashboard and exploration of the final report of the dashboard.
