The National Science Day was celebrated in JCT College of Engineering and Technology on behalf of S&H department on February 28, 2024. Most of the students had shown much interest and participated in the seminar.

The event started sharply at 2.30 pm by lighting kuthuvillakku. All the Heads of Departments, Faculty members and the students from various departments attended the programme.

Welcome address was given by Ms.D.Kowsalya Mercy, Assistant Professor from English Department. Following that, Presidential address was given by Principal Dr.S.Manoharan . He mentioned the importance and reason for celebrating Science Day on remembering the great work contributed by the scientist Sir. C.V. Raman.

Dr.I.V. Muthu Vijayan Enoch, Professor of Chemistry & Nanoscience and Technology, Karunya University, Coimbatore was the chief guest. He delivered his speech by motivating the students, bringing the importance of science, highlighted on Nano technology, its current trends known by the students applicable to the society. He has also mentioned about the Thermo Dynamic theory and explained about it.

He concluded his speech by addressing the students to develop new concepts and ideas to innovate the society. Finally the programme was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.I.Nancy Nisha Assistant Professor from English department followed by National Anthem.
