The Department of Civil Engineering & ECO Club successfully conducted World Environmental Day on 5th June 2025. The session focused on the crucial topic of "PLANET vs PLASTIC" delivered by Dr.V.Murugesh, Professor & Head of the Civil Engineering Department.

The event began with taking pledge to save Plastic Free Environment from and a warm Welcome Address delivered by Prof.R.Jagedeswari, who extended heartfelt greetings to the gathering and emphasized the importance of Environment. Prof.M.Sadhasivam introduced the Chief Guest. In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, a seminar was organized on the globally relevant theme “Planet vs Plastic”.

The event aimed to spread awareness about the rising environmental challenges posed by plastic pollution and to explore sustainable alternatives and solutions. This year’s theme, chosen by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), underscores the urgent need to eliminate plastic pollution and protect our planet’s ecological balance.

The session concluded with Plantation by Head of the Intuition our Principal Dr.S.Manoharan& HOD’s from various Departments. And a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Hari G S, Department of Civil Engineering, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for making the session insightful and impactful. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged students to actively apply the knowledge gained in their future professional environments.
