On 22nd April 2025, the Department of Petroleum Engineering hosted the seventh edition of its highly anticipated Alumni Talk Series 2025, continuing its commitment to fostering strong industry-academic connections and providing students with invaluable professional insights. This session, focused on Oil and Gas (Upstream), was led by distinguished alumnus Mr. Dijo LS, a Junior Drilling Engineer renowned for his passion and expertise in drilling operations, well engineering, and the innovative use of data analytics in modern drilling technologies.
Mr. Dijo, belonging to the 2019-2023 graduating batch, engaged the audience with a comprehensive overview of upstream petroleum engineering practices, emphasizing the critical role that drilling and well engineering play in exploration and production. . His detailed explanations on how cutting-edge technologies are revolutionizing traditional drilling methods captivated students and faculty alike, providing a glimpse into the future of the oil and gas sector.
