“AWARENESS ON WOMEN SAFETY” a programme was organized on 07.12.2022 by the Women Empowerment & Prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) Cell at JCT college of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. This event was organized especially to First year girl students to create awareness about 181 Women Helpline (WHL) which is a 24-hour confidential service for women and child survivors and victims of any form of violence including domestic & intimate partner.

Our resource person was Ms.S.Thenmozhi, Social Welfare Department, Senior Counselor, Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights, Integrated service centre (OSC – one stop centre), Medical college campus, Avinashi road, Coimbatore. Our Principal Dr.S.Manoharan, Dr.M.Muralidharan, Head of the Department (Science and Humanities), participated in this event. Totally 80 girl students and 20 women faculty members have actively took part in this event. Finally, they took a pledge on women safety and the programme came to an end.
