On November 7, 2024, JCT College of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, in association with the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) and the Biochemical Research Society of India (BRSI), organized a Cancer Awareness Rally to mark National Cancer Awareness Day. The event aimed to raise public awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of healthy lifestyles in combating the disease. The rally took place from Pichanur to KG Chavadi, covering key areas to spread awareness among the local community.

The Cancer Awareness Rally 2024 was an important initiative to educate the public about the impact of cancer and the significance of early detection, prevention, and healthy lifestyles. It was an excellent platform for the students and faculty of JCT College of Engineering and Technology to actively engage with the local community in raising awareness about cancer and its prevention. The event was coordinated by Dr. G. Gnanavel, Faculty Coordinator and Professor at the Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering. Dr.S.Manoharan, Principal leadership was instrumental in the successful planning and execution of the rally. Dr. K.V. Selvakumar, Head of the Department, provided continuous support and guidance to ensure that the rally was impactful and aligned with the educational objectives.

The rally was well-received by the participants and the local community, and it achieved its goal of spreading awareness about cancer. The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment, with the hope that it would contribute to the broader goal of cancer prevention and early detection in the region.
