First Year Virtual Inauguration function for the Academic Year (2020-2021) was held in JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Pichanur, Coimbatore on 29.10.2020 by 10.00am at our seminar hall. The function started with a prayer song of Thamizh Thai Vazhthu and lightning of Kuthuvilaku was done by Principal and HODs.

Dr. K. Geetha, Dean-Academics and Research, welcomed the gathering. In her Welcome Address, she encouraged the students to undertake these 4 years of course. She also motivated the students by bringing more importance of studying engineering and in her speech she also explained about the recent Development trends of mobile communication by engineering students.

The Chairman Thiru S. A. Subramanian, JCTCET felicitated the gathering. In his Presidential address, he highlighted that the students must know their age of responsibility and their values in building life and nation. He encouraged the students about the various new job opportunities waiting in MNCs companies and others etc. He portrayed that India has faced tremendous technology potential in various fields like IT, Petroleum, Petro Chemical, Communication etc. of which those will be achieved only by the Engineers.

The Principal Dr. V. J. Arulkarthick has presided over the function. In his key Note address, he elucidated the rules and regulations of the academic system and Anna University regulations to the Students. He also briefed about the establishment of the college with 10 UG degree courses and 4 PG courses. He also brought a point that two new courses B.Tech. Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering and B.Tech. Computer Science & Business systems have launched recently in the College. He also highlighted about the college appraisal of achieving NAAC and NBA. Parents were attending the Inaugural function with pride and happiness because of their Students’ Educational journey at Stream of Engineering and Technology at JCTCET. In addition, he insisted that the parents must be very supportive for the betterment of their children and students must know their responsibilities. He advised that students must develop good attitude, know their values of life and understand that the failures are the stepping stones of success.

On the other hand, an introduction of HoD’s was made by him and briefed about the plan of activities and job opportunities to the budding Engineers.

The Inaugural Address was given by the Chief Guest Mr. Charles, HR Leader, ZOHO Corporation Private Limited. He encouraged the future engineers to set a goal in their life even from the very first day of the college. He was also reciting his past experiences and memories of his college life. He instructed the students to collaborate with all the departments. Moreover, he continued his speech advising the wards to develop creativity, focus and self responsibility towards their education.

The Function concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. M. Muralidharan, HoD, Department of Mathematics and ended with the National Anthem.
