The Faculty of Civil Engineering, JCT College of Engineering and Technology organized an Expert Lecture on “Foundation engineering” during forenoon session of 31 st July2013.

Mr.Sakivel, consultant (L&T), Coimbatore visited our Campus on 31 st July2013.Prof.A.Kumar, Head of civil department welcomed the resource person and the participants.

The programme started with an introduction of the Expert by Assistant Professor.R.A. Manoj kumar, and Assistant Professor N. Satish babu Department of Civil Engineering.

Mr .sakivel , in his expert lecture, discussed about various topics of site investigation, & selection of foundation based on soil condition. He explained the integration of shallow foundation and deep foundation. The students were also given exposure about practical knowledge in shallow foundation and deep foundation. Finally students gave feedback on the lecture and the chief guest clarified their queries. Mr.Sakivel also encouraged the students to take up GATE preparations and UPSC exam.

Assistant Professor V.Murugesh concluded the lecture with a vote of thanks.
