A Guest Lecture on the topic “Android for mobile Application” was delivered by Mr.Sowrimalaiyan, Surya Tech Solutions, Coimbatore on 26.08.2013 at the seminar hall of JCT CET at 02:00 P.M. The 3rd and 4th year ECE students and faculty of ECE department participated in the event. The session was started with a prayer and welcome address. A memento was handed over to honor the guest speaker by Prof.V.Ayyem Pillai Professor and Head, ECE.

The basics of android mobile operating system and its application development tools were presented. A demonstration was given by creating a sample application in JAVA and running it in an emulator. Another sample application was developed and demonstrated using android jelly bean. The seminar was more beneficial to the 4th year ECE students who chose Internet and Java as their elective subject. There was a good interaction between the speaker and the students even after the end of program. The session was concluded by a vote of thanks and national anthem at 3:50 P.M.
