The department of Civil Engineering hosted an international Faculty Development Program on “Advances in Civil Engineering” from January 09th to January 14th , 2023. It is a one week FDP program, and the resource person also imparted his knowledge of the realities of the civil engineering industry and its significance to the expansion of the world economy.

Mr. Karthik Itha works as a junior engineer for Pro & Ng in Milan, Italy. He is leading the discussion on "Advanced Applications of BIM in the Construction Industry" and he will show how BIM construction has developed in civil engineering.

Dr. Chandra Bogi Reddy, is the Principal, Geotechnical Engineer, YNR Associates, Andhra Pradesh. He shared his expertise on using bio-char to stabilise clayey soil in a sustainable and green manner.

Dr. S. Neelamani, is a Senior Research Scientist of in Coastal Management Program, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait. He imparted his great expertise on the Opportunities and Challenges in Ocean Engineering. He also discussed the many employment options available to civil engineers abroad.

Dr. G. V. Ramana Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT, Warangal. His explanation of the Foundation Moduli of Rock Mass for Spillway Design was wonderful.

Dr. Ananth Wuppukondur, is doing Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in School of Civil Engineering, University of Queensland at Australia. He gave a fantastic explanation of how engineering can protect ecosystems and coastlines.

Prof. Bilal Enes Taskesti from Monash University, Clayton Campus, Melbourne, Australia, is doing Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in School of Civil Engineering, Clayton Campus, Monash University at Australia. He explained about advances in Geotechnical Engineering.

For this International FDP to be a huge success, Dr. V. Murugesh, Associate Professor & Head of the department, and all faculty members have given tremendous cooperation.
