The International Women’s Day 2022 was conducted at JCT College of Engineering and Technology on behalf of Women’s Empowerment cell on March 8th, 2022.

The celebration started at 10.00 am by lighting the kuthuvilakku.All the Heads of various Departments, Faculty members and the students from various departments attended the programme. Welcome address was given by Ms.Sweeka Teresa III year Food Technology. Following that, Presidential address was given by Principal, Dr.S.Manoharan.and he mentioned the importance of Women’s day celebration. All the 5 women chief guests from various fields and 4 alumnae students were honored on behalf of our college by Professor Vedha Vinodha.D,Women Empowerment Cell –Convenor.

In morning session Chief guest Dr.Vijayalakshmi Mohan, Founder and Chairman of Gnanodhaya Nursing college,Mysore delivered a special speech. In her speech she motivated the students, and told about the importance of women in our society. She was explaining the reason for celebrating the Women’s day. Followed by her our next chief guest Ms.Mowli Lakshmanan Director, English content writer. In her speech she spoke about women’s role in different fields.Following that Ms Lakshmi M S, News Correspondent of All India Radio Hyderabad delivered the Speech about the Power of women. Our next chief guest was Mrs. Rajee Samjith ,Educationist,Applied Psychologist,NLP Trainner,Life Coach,Kotagiri delivered a speech about “Navigate to discover… The Happy super cool women” .She insisted that each and every women should be happy always.

In afternoon session our chief guest poet Mrs.Muthamil Kalyan,Kalaikoodam School of Music delivered a speech about “Pengal Andrum Indrum”. With this all the chief guests from various fields gave their valuable points. Next it was Alumnae of JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Ms.Kavya Dhamotharan IT Analyst TCS Chennai, Ms.B.Nikita Software Test Engineer Mindtree ltd Chennai,Ms.Prethika M Quality council of India New Delhi.and Ms.Preethi.R Maintanenance Engineer DOW Chemicals and International Pvt ltd Chennai, shared their experience in JCT and after JCT. After that prizes were distributed to the winners. The events conducted were Musical Chair for faculties, Mehandhi, Face painting and Hair dressing for Students. Students showed much interest and participated in the events and About 105 participants participated in this function including both female faculties and students.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Chetana I year ECE and the Women’s day celebration 2022 came to an end with the National Anthem.
