“INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION” was organized on 08.03.2024 by the Women Empowerment & Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Cell at JCT college of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The celebration started at 10.00 am by lighting the Kuthuvilakku. All the Heads from various Departments, Faculty members and girl students from various departments attended the programme.

Dr. S. Kavitha, Head of the department of PCE welcomed the gathering. Following that, Presidential address was given by Principal, Dr.S.Manoharan and he told about the achievement of women in various fields. All the women chief guests from various fields were invited to shared their views in morning session. Chief guest Dr. S. Bhargavi created an awareness about the cancer & it’s types and how to prevent it in an effective manner.

Our next chief guest Mrs. M. Saranya, Founder of Yidamm Organic Vellakoil, Tiruppur explained about the organic product and it’s current value in the market. Followed by Mrs. Umadevi Founder and CEO of sreedevi academy and DOTS, Coimbatore told about the making of the toys, jewels etc. Followed by her our next chief guest Mrs. Sandhana devi, Project Coordinator Network For Positive People, Coimbatore. She explained about how women can balance work and lifestyle in day to day life.

In Afternoon session Mrs. Sangeetha Sanoop, Practicing Lawyer, District Court, Thrissur she explained about the various type of law and it’s enforcement in society. Our next chief guest Dr. R. Karthiga, Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences, Palakkad she created an awareness about the impact of drug and it’s harmful effect.

On behalf of International Women’s Day Celebration - 2024 various events like Sports, musical Chair, mehndi, dance and music were conducted from March 6th onwards for girl students and women faculties. Students showcase their talent and participated in various events. Prizes were distributed by our beloved principal Dr.S.Manoharan to the winners. Nearly more than 200 girl students from various department and 30 women faculty members actively took part in this event. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Ms. ThahseenThahir ECE and finally women’s Day Celebration came to an end with the National Anthem.
