National Level Workshop for Faculties and Researchers


The two day training workshop on ‘Multi- Objective Evolutionary Optimization for Engineering Applications and Product /process innovation through TRIZ’ was organized successfully by the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 30th to 31st August 2013 at JCT College of Engineering and Technology.


The inaugural function was held on 30.08.2013 at 10 a.m. in the seminar hall of JCTCET. The function was inaugurated by Dr. V. Selladurai, Principal of CIT. In his speech, he explained the importance of science and its application in modern technology. He referred to a book titled ‘Genetic Algorithm’ which contains numerous applications. Further, he advised everyone to use the resource to its fullest and to innovate new ideas.


The special address was delivered by Thiru. S. A Subramanian, Chairman. In his address, he congratulated the principal and the Faculty of Mechanical for organizing the workshop. He stressed that Engineering Education is absolutely necessary in this competitive world and that the forum would help the people to enrich their knowledge in the respective fields.


The presidential address was delivered by Dr.R.Saravanan, the Principal of JCT College of Engineering and Technology. He gave the introductory talk on TRIZ-Theory to Resolve Inventive Problems and how to implement new ideas and solutions in developing new products.


Thiru O.M. Manivelu, the college trustee, Dean of Mechanical Sciences Dr.M.Thiruchitrabalam and Dr.S Rajabalayanan, Prof. & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering presided the function.

120 participants included Faculty members, Research scholars, PG students from Engineering Institutes from Tamil Nadu and Kerala attended the workshop. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr.S.Gopinath, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
